Peaceful lakeside cottage newly renovated with its own dock and swim float . Enjoy swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. Secluded site with 150 feet of shoreline. Located on beautiful Beech Hill Pond. On the shore enjoy sleeping on the hammock or lounging by outdoor fire pit. Listen to loon calls and enjoy the ducks as they swim by the cottage. Nice porch for those rainy days. You will enjoy every minute of it and will never want to leave! Bring your own boat for fishing, tubing and water skiing on the lake. Or just enjoy the provided Kayaks and paddle boards. The sandy bottom shoreline descends quickly to deep water within a few feet of the edge. Very clear water that you can see down about 20 feet or more. Great location, can swim in a beautiful cool lake and still close enough to spend the day in Acadia and Bar Harbor. Both are located about 50 minutes away. Beech Hill Pond is 4.5 miles long, half a mile wide, and up to 104 feet deep. Trout, salmon, and other species of fish have been observed in the lake. Bald Eagles can be seen hunting right in front of the cottage. We saw one catch a large fish right in front of us. The Loons are prevalent on the lake and can be heard calling in the night in the quiet still air. Fish found in Beech Hill Pond include salmon, rainbow trout, lake trout, brook trout, small mouth bass, and several others. The largest lake trout in Maine was caught on the lake in 1958. It weighed 31.5 pounds. Beech Hill Pond was said to be one of the "best bets for Maine lake trout" by Tom Seymour. It is not possible to fish from the lake's shore, although fishing can be done out on the lake.

This is the real deal, our camp was built by my grandfather in the 1940's and has been lovingly kept up by our family ever since. Camp Bud has 100' of waterfront in quiet School House Cove on crystal clear, spring fed, Beech Hill Pond which measure three miles by five and has great fishing, loons, ducks, eagles and so much more. We provide a 18' canoe and 2 kayaks for exploring the lake. Acadia National Park is a 45 min drive from camp. Our roomy 10' by 20' screened/glassed in porch is just 10 feet from the waters edge. Every guest we have had over the past 5 years has said "The porch is the place to be!" Many people sleep on the porch even if there is room for them to sleep in the camp. There is nothing like listening to the rain on the roof directly over your head or hearing the Loons just outside the porch screens, catching the pine scented breeze in the evening, or hearing the waves lapping on the rock lined shore. The porch features a futon and a long roomy table built by my father 50 years ago. Using the bench and chairs the table will seat 8 comfortably for your lobster dinner (we provide all pots, utensils and special plates you would need for this) or maybe you will want to cook out on our large Bar-B-Q / Smoker located just outside the porch door, also all utensils for this are hanging on the porch wall including long forks for cooking hot dogs and s'mores over the fire pit. We also have a large table and chairs for picnicking outdoors under the pines and only 5 feet from the waters edge Many charming features are still intact such as the painted wood floors, the original knotty pine paneling the pealed pine logs that make up the railing to the loft bedroom. The original wood shed and boat house are also still here. The master bedroom and bathroom were added on in the 80's. This bedroom has a nice view to the water a queen size bed dresser and large closet. The bath is right beside the master and has a shower. there is another 1/2 bath in the laundry room. We supply all linens, extra blankets, plenty of towels including beach towels, we also provide toilet paper shampoo and soap. We have a nice large kitchen as you can see in the pictures. We supply table settings for 8 all pots and pans mixing bowls and cooking utensils in addition to paper towels plastic wrap, aluminum foil, storage containers, most basic spices, salt and pepper, coffee, sugar, flour, cooking oil, Pam, soy sauce, dish washing liquid dish washer detergent (cascade) We have had many guests that have booked 1 week the first year have come back the next year and booked 2 weeks so they can spend one at camp and the other at Acadia National Park and the many other scenic attractions. Please contact me for more information on our camp.

With the acquisition of more land and private support and funding, in 1919 President Wilson signed an act establishing Lafayette National Park. In 1929 the parks name was changed to Acadia. Acadia National Park was established to protect the area's spectacular scenic values, Maine's rock bound coast, its coastal and its offshore islands as characterized by the geologic features, natural history and the native plant and animal life. Forty five miles of rustic carriage roads weave around the mountains and through the valleys of Acadia National Park, the gift of philanthropist John D Rockefeller, Jr., and family. Rockefeller, a skilled horseman, desired to travel on motor free byways via horse and carriage into the heart of Mount Desert Island. His efforts resulted in roads with sweeping vistas and close up views of the landscape. Cadillac Mountain: Cadillac Mountain: At 1,530 feet, Cadillac Mountain is not only the tallest mountain in Acadia National Park, but also the tallest mountain along the eastern coast of the United States. Explore the summit of this granite mountain along a .3-mile trail, which includes wayside exhibits about natural and human history. Portions of this trail are accessible to wheelchair users. Cadillac Mountain is accessible via a winding, narrow, 3.5-mile road. The road is closed from December 1 through April 14 and whenever weather conditions (e.g., dense fog or ice) require.
